Beyond his role at KHOU 11, Brandon is a dual-decade tenured Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston. These unique positions allow him to synthesize real-world experience with scholarly wisdom, creating an engaging perspective on the dynamic world of politics.
He is the author of dozens of academic articles and several books, most recently Inside Texas Politics, Current Debates in the Lone Star State, Inside American Government (all Oxford University Press), and the definitive Rick Perry: A Political Life (University of Texas Press).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
