Hirs is an energy executive with more than 30 years of experience in management, consulting, and corporate finance. He's a thought leader who's published analyses on energy markets including sustainable energy and grid economics, finance, macroeconomics, and corporate governance in major media.
In addition to helping KHOU 11 viewers understand the intricate details of energy and economics, he also teaches courses at the University of Houston, where he is an inaugural Energy Fellow.
Hirs earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction, a Master of Arts, and an MBA in economics from Yale University. He's also a CFA charterholder.
