HOUSTON — Eight people were injured police say a vehicle crashed into a Fiesta Mart in the Sunnyside area Saturday afternoon.
This happened at the store located in the 9400 bock Cullen Boulevard.
Houston police said a driver of a gold SUV crashed into the front of the store making it all the way to the registers, about 15 to 20 feet from the entrance.
Eight people in total were injured with the youngest being 9-year-old, police said. They were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive.
The suspect driver is in custody, police said. He appeared to be impaired but was taken be further evaluated.
There are no charges at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
