Houston Forecast: Warm Wednesday evening; cold front approaching
Updated today at 5:00 PM
HOUSTON -- Wednesday evening will be the last warm day we’ll have for a while in the Houston area as a cold front gets closer to Southeast Texas, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
Temps will fall to around 68 degrees this evening under mostly sunny skies.
Thursday brings a 30-percent chance for rain as a cold front moves in around lunch time.
“Wintry weather is possible to our north, but locally we’ll have mostly just rain,” said Garner. “A few sprinkles are possible Thursday morning with more widespread thundershowers that afternoon.”
Thursday’s high is 73 degrees. Overnight into Friday morning the temperatures will drop into the 40s.
It’ll remain cold and cloudy with rain possible through the weekend.
Starting Saturday, it’ll be downright chilly in the Houston area with daytime temperatures only in the 40s and overnight lows in the mid-30s.
By Tuesday the clear skies return but the cold temps stick around.
