Houston Forecast: Scattered storms, hot Thursday
Updated today at 6:17 AM
HOUSTON -- The temperatures will continue to rise on Thursday, but some parts of town will get a little relief from the heat in the form of rain.
KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson says there’s a 30-percent chance for rain today with a forecast high of 97 degrees.
“This morning you won’t have to worry about the rain much, but heading home this afternoon is when you’ll likely be using those windshield wipers,” said Johnson. “A few of the thunderstorms that move through could bring heavy downpours and lightning.”
Friday will be a little hotter with a 20-percent chance for rain.
This weekend will be sunny as we top out around 100 degrees.
Early next week will be exceptionally hot, too, with very little chance for rain.
By Tuesday and Wednesday the temps finally go back down a little bit as a 30-percent chance for rain moves in.
