Houston Forecast: Chance for more rain, storms this afternoon

HOUSTON –- Early morning storms and rain north of the city will move out of the Houston area as the sun comes up, leaving us with a warm and muggy day, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“If you’re waking up and thinking, ‘I haven’t seen any rain!’ it’s probably because you live on the south side of town,” said Johnson.
There's another chance for rain and storms in southeast Texas on Wednesday afternoon, however.
Overnight severe weather alerts, including a tornado warning, were allowed to expire early Wednesday. There were reports of small hail in Montgomery County and Liberty County, but there were no reports of serious damage.
There’s still a 40-percent chance of rain for the rest of the day since some storms could redevelop this afternoon. We’ll top out around 89 degrees.
Looking at the seven-day forecast, the next several days will be sunny with daytime temps around 90 degrees. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s.
After Wednesday, there’s no chance for rain in the seven-day.
