FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A worker fell 25 feet after a scaffolding collapsed at a new Katy ISD high school construction site.

The man suffered a broken leg and was flown to a hospital for treatment, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

Major Chad Norvell said this happened Thursday afternoon at Fulshear Bend and Cross Creek Bend Lane.

It was not clear why the scaffolding collapsed, Norvell said. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening, he said.

Katy ISD said the man works for an outside contractor, which insures the work site.
