1 dead in three-vehicle crash along W. Sam Houston Beltway

Police are trying to determine who ran a red light that led to a deadly three-vehicle crash in west Houston Monday night.

HOUSTON — Police are trying to determine who ran a red light that led to a deadly three-vehicle crash in west Houston Monday night.

This happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Harwin and the West Sam Houston Parkway.

Houston police say a car heading north of the West Sam Houston Parkway feeder road collided with another car heading east on Harwin at the intersection. It is not clear at this time who is at fault.

One of the passengers in the vehicles involved died after being transported to a local hospital, police said. All three drivers involved only suffered minor injuries with one being transported to a hospital to be treated.

Police are checking to see surveillance in the area caught the crash on video. They will also download data from two of the vehicles to determine speed at the time of the crash.

Police say none of the drivers showed signs of intoxication at the time of the crash and are cooperating with the investigation.
