HOUSTON — An HISD teacher has been accused of inappropriately touching two of his former students.
Jude Obinyan, 59, has been charged with indecency with a child and improper relationship with a student.
According to court documents, a woman told police Obinyan touched her leg, butt and inner thighs while she was a fourth-grade student at The Rice School.
While investigating this case, officials discovered another case from April 21, 2017 in which a different student who was 9 years old at the time claimed Obinyan repeatedly touched her butt and chest.
Officials spoke with the girl’s mother who told school administrators about the incident but said she was not taken seriously and withdrew her daughter from school.
Obinyan was arrested on the two charges but is out on bond.
