A child was shot in the leg at a southwest Houston apartment complex Tuesday evening, police say.
According to the Houston Police Department, a weapon was discharged just before 6 p.m. at an apartment in the 8000 block of Boone Street.
Police say a 9-year-old child was shot in the leg. He was transported in the hospital and is in stable condition.
It was originally reported as an accidental shooting, but HPD say the investigation is ongoing and a 19-year-old was taken downtown for questioning.
