Texas lawyer who threw $4M birthday bash for son now has reality show on YouTube

Wealthy Texas lawyer Thomas J. Henry, who paid for a $4 million birthday party for his son and a $6 million quinceneara for his daughter, is featured in a YouTube series about his family called "Hangin' with the Henrys."

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Texas lawyer who threw his son a $4 million birthday party bash is giving us a glimpse into his life — on the Internet.

The first two 7-minute episodes of Hangin' With Los Henrys were released this week on YouTube. The cast features lawyer Thomas J. Henry; his wife, Azteca; their teenage children, Thomas Jr. and Maya; and their grandmother Teresa.

These aren't your typical home videos: The professionally produced episodes open a window into the family's wealth, privilege and opulent tastes.

One episode focuses on preparations for a party for Thomas Jr.'s 18th birthday.

► Monday: Lawyer gives son $4 million birthday party
► July 10: Harper Beckham’s princess birthday party is a 6-year-old’s dream

The pricetag for that shindig was $4 million and came on the heels of Maya's $6 million quinceñeara last year.

"At the end of the day, we're just a Mexican American family from Texas," Azteca said in one clip.

Yet this family uses a party planner who has done work for Maxim and Playboy and surprised the 18-year-old with a Ferrari Spyder; the 2017 model has a manufacturer's suggested retail base price of $272,700.

The first episode, published Monday on YouTube, had more than 65,000 views as of mid-afternoon Friday.

That's more than the 21,000 views of Kim Kardashian West's latest video Dec. 6 on her YouTube channel, but West can boast almost 1 million subscribers for her channel. Keeping Up with the Kardashians also has aired more than 200 episodes on E! cable-TV network since 2007.

Some Web shows do find their way to cable TV. Among them:

• Broad City, which debuted in 2009 and premiered on Comedy Central in 2014.
• Drunk History, which first had a home on Funny or Die before heading to Comedy Central in 2013.
• High Maintenance, which started on Vimeo in 2012 and moved to HBO in 2016.

Episode 2 of Hangin' With Los Henrys was out Wednesday. The Henry family's website shows that Episode 3 will be released soon.

The family lives in a mansion in San Antonio. Thomas J. Henry, a personal injury lawyer whose commercials are a staple on South Texas television, has offices in San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston.
