HOUSTON -- A big rig carrying heavy machinery flipped and shut down the Eastex Freeway early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 12 a.m. on the freeway's inbound side near I-10, not far from downtown.
All mainlanes were closed for about five hours during the cleanup. Hazmat crews had to clean up diesel fuel spilled during the wreck.
There were no injuries.
While a dense fog advisory was in effect at the time, police do not believe weather was a factor in the crash.
