LEAGUE CITY, Texas - League City Police say a teenager drowned Friday night in a detention pond.
Police say the 18-year-old went swimming in a pond near Kaleta Pass Lane Friday evening when friends say he went under and never resurfaced. They called for help just before 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials recovered the body of the victim, identified as Andre Derouen, just before 7 p.m. Friday.
Police say their preliminary investigation does not indicate any signs of foul play at this time.
