HOUSTON - Open up your hearts and homes to animals in need on Friday at the Harris County Animal Shelter. KHOU is teaming up with the shelter for a special adopt event.

KHOU 11 anchors Russ Lewis, Stephanie Simmons, and Tiffany Craig will be out at the shelter from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with furry friends who are ready to be adopted.

The animal shelter is located at 612 Canino Rd, Houston, TX 77076.

Adoptions are first-come, first-serve and, for Friday only, everyone will receive our special military/senior adoption rate.

Adoption fees will be:

$40 for puppies

$25 for dogs

$20 for Cats & kittens

**All adoptions include spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip and 1-year pet license.
