Did you get woken up early this morning by thunder? Harris county did end up with widespread 1"-3" rain totals today. Enough to make a mess of the roads, but not enough to flood the bayous. Here's Buffalo Bayou... up, but well within its banks.
Dallas was not so lucky. Dangerous street flooding was widespread. Boats were launched on bayous for high water rescues.
Just north and west of Big 'D' it was cold enough for sleet and freezing rain. That's a good 1/4" of an inch of accumulation near Denton, TX.
Enough to coat trees and bring down limbs. Widespread power outages are expected. Texas is a big place, and these late winter, early spring storms can bring a little bit of everything with them across the Lone Star State.
