HOUSTON - A robbery suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase in south Houston Sunday, according to authorities.
The Houston Police Department said the suspect initially stole a woman's purse near Almeda Genoa Road and Furman Road and drove off.
Police located the suspect and attempted to stop him but he drove off and led police on a chase in the area. The suspect eventually stopped the vehicle and ran off on foot.
Police said a female passenger was in the vehicle during the time of the chase and she was detained. A young child was also in the vehicle during the chase and is okay.
