Police: Suspects punch UH student, steal vehicle near campus

Authorities are looking for the suspects accused of carjacking a University of Houston student on Monday.

Authorities are looking for the suspects accused of carjacking a University of Houston student on Monday.

According to the University of Houston Police Department, the incident happened off-campus around 1:40 p.m. at the Mormon Church parking lot located in the 5000 block of Calhoun Street.

Police say a 23-year-old student was approached by a man asking her for directions. He then allegedly "struck the complainant with his fist and took her vehicle." The student had minor injuries.

There were several other men who allegedly got into the car before fleeing the scene south on Martin Luther King Boulevard towards Old Spanish Trail.

One of the suspects has been described as black, 6 feet tall and thin build. He is believed to be 20-25 years old. He was allegedly wearing a black beanie, white sweater and white gloves.

The stolen vehicle has been described a black, 2012 Toyota Corolla with license plate #D45D285. There is a Puerto Rico flag on the rear window.
