MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – The Montgomery County District Attorney announced Thursday a man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting young girls who escaped from a rehab center.

Omar Davis, 52, was arrested in July 2017 after an investigation by Texas DPS.

Investigators said a 16-year-old girl had escaped from a rehabilitation facility when Davis lured her into his apartment.

“Over the course of the night and into the following day, Davis sexually assaulted the victim multiple times. The victim was able to escape from Davis and return to the victim’s residence,” the Montgomery County D.A. stated.

Law enforcement who were looking for the missing girl were directed to the suspect’s house, and it was there investigators found evidence of two other victims. Those victims were identified and tracked down.

Davis was charged in August and several months later was convicted on three felony offenses of sexual assault of a child. He received 10 years in prison on each count.

He did not have any prior criminal history.

“The Texas Department of Public Safety – CID investigator did a phenomenal job on this investigation, from start to finish. This defendant purposefully situated himself in a location to prey upon the most vulnerable of victims, primarily young girls who were already struggling with emotional and physical issues. But now, this defendant is headed to prison where he belongs,” stated Tyler Dunman, Special Crimes Bureau Chief.
