HOUSTON – Police say a man was shot after an argument over gambling led to a shooting in an abandoned building in south Houston overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to a call of a shooting at an abandoned building in the 10700 block of Cullen near Dacca, across the street from a Family Dollar Store.

When HPD arrived at the scene, officers found a man with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. He was transported to a local hospital and taken into surgery.

Police said they believe the victim and the suspects were in the building gambling when an argument led to the shooting. The victim's keys and vehicle were stolen after he was shot.

No witnesses were able to give descriptions of the suspects or vehicles, police said.
