A manhunt is underway for a suspect who fled from police twice, according to authorities.

The Splendora Police Department is looking for Adam Williams. Williams was able to un-restrain himself from a gurney and run away from police on Friday after they responded to a suspicious person call near First St. and Creekwood Drive.

When police initially arrived on scene they made contact with two males, one being Williams. When officers went to frisk Williams for their safety, he took off running. They were able to catch him and restrain him.

Williams told police he hurt his leg so they called EMS to the scene. While EMS was checking him out Williams was able to free himself and get away again.

Police set up a perimeter and requested K-9 to locate Williams. The San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office and TDCJ came out to assist with their tracking dogs.

The dogs lost Williams' scent and was unable to find him.

A warrant has been filed.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams to call 936-760-5800.
