Houston shines blue to honor health care workers, first responders

It's part of the #LightItBlue viral campaign to honor those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

HOUSTON — To honor health care workers, first responders and essential workers fighting on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, buildings and stadiums across Greater Houston shined blue in appreciation for those fighting to keep us safe.

From Minute Maid Park to Rice Stadium, check out these beautiful photos honoring the #LightItBlue global campaign spreading across social media.

“Tonight Minute Maid Park joined the nationwide #LightItBlue campaign to show support for healthcare professionals and individuals on the front lines of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. #ForTheH,” the Houston Astros tweeted with photos of an all-blue Minute Maid Park.

“In honor of all the selfless first responders and essential personnel. #LightItBlue | #WeAreTexans,” the Houston Texans tweeted of NRG Stadium with its roof lit blue.

“Thank you to all of the healthcare professionals and other essential personnel on the frontlines of this COVID-19 pandemic. #LightItBlue,” the Houston Rockets tweeted with photos from Toyota Center.
