Google plans to open Houston office in 2021

The tech giant leased an entire office floor in the One Buffalo Heights office building.

HOUSTON — Google Inc. is entering the Houston market with its first local sales office in the Washington Avenue Corridor.

The Mountain View, California-based internet and technology giant will open the office at the One Buffalo Heights building at 3663 Washington Ave., Google announced June 17. The office, which will house Google's regional Cloud Enterprise Sales team, is expected to open in early 2021.

Google leased an entire floor in the 37,000-square-foot One Buffalo Heights office building. Anchored by a new H-E-B grocery store, the mixed-use Buffalo Heights development opened in October 2019. Buffalo Heights is a development of BKR Memorial, a Houston-based, privately held company owned by the Russell and Glenda Gordy family.
