HOUSTON — After heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Imelda, school districts across the Houston area decided to either close or cancel after-school activities.

School closures

Caney Creek High School (Conroe ISD) will be closed for repairs on Monday, but is planned to open on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The rest of Conroe ISD is open Monday.

East Chambers ISD has canceled classes for Monday, Sept. 23.

Huffman ISD is closed Monday, Sept. 23. "Due to the ongoing impact to our community, roadways and facilities Huffman ISD is cancelling classes for all students for Monday September 23rd. We hope that this additional day will help our community continue to recover and prepare to resume classes on Tuesday."

New Caney ISD has canceled classes for Monday, Sept. 23.

Tarkington ISD will be closed Monday, Sept. 23.
