Flooded streets and power outages have forced the closure of several school districts and some courts in the Houston area.
Court/city/county closures:
- Houston Municipal Courts: Closed Thursday, but to reopen Friday
- Harris County Courthouses are open but Harris County Civil, Criminal, Family and Juvenile District Courts’ dockets are cancelled for Friday, and litigants set for Friday need to contact their individual courts to reschedule.
Jury call for Friday is cancelled and individuals set for Friday do not need to reschedule. However, Jurors who are currently in trial need to contact their individual court for instructions regarding the resumption of trial.

- Houston ISD: All HISD schools and offices are closed today (Friday, 5/10) due to inclement weather. Schools and offices will resume normal schedules on Monday, 5/13.
- Hull-Daisetta ISD: Closed Friday

- Incarnate Word: Closed Friday
- Katy ISD: Closed Friday
- KIPP Houston: Closed Friday
- Klein ISD: Closed Friday
- Lamar Consolidated ISD: Closed Friday

- Lone Star College: All campuses closed Friday. LSC Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 10 will be held with the exception of LSC-Tomball which will be rescheduled.
