Garbage pickup cancellations for Jefferson Parish, Jean Lafitte

Regular trash pickup is expected to resume Monday, July 15.

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Trash pickup in Jefferson Parish has been altered, thanks to approaching Tropical Storm Barry.

According to officials, all curbside garbage and recycling services will be canceled for this Friday and Saturday. In addition, the Jefferson Parish Landfill and all four trash drop-off sites will be closed through Sunday, July 14.

Residents are asked to hold their trash and recyclables until the next scheduled pickup. If they are unable to do so, they may drop their waste at one of the four drop-off sites when they reopen for business on Tuesday, July 16.

Regular trash pickup is expected to resume Monday, July 15.
