HOUSTON — Today's weather will continue through Thursday as a front remains stalled to our south. That front will keep clouds and shower chances in play over the next few days, with the best rain chances arriving Wednesday and Thursday.
Additionally, as long as the front stays to our south, we will be on the cold side of things, with a persistent north flow keeping temperatures well below normal. Some days, our highs may struggle to get out of the 40s.
To the north and west, where temperatures are below freezing, an ice storm is taking shape. Ice accretion of .25 to .50" will lead to significant travel disruptions from the Hill County to the Dallas Metroplex with power outages likely as well.
On Thursday, a better chance of rain arrives with a cold front that will finally sweep this unsettled weather away. In its wake, temperatures will actually climb a few degrees, into the 60s thanks to the return of sunshine. That nice weather will remain for next weekend.
