HOUSTON — LOCAL:
It's a special Friday night in Houston! Not only is it Friday the 13th, but it's also a full moon. It's a rare occasion that only happens once every 25-30 years. The next Friday the 13th full moon won't happen until 2049.
Tonight's full moon is also a micro moon and a harvest moon. Watch this video to learn more about tonight's special lunar event.
Rain chances drop to just 10% on Saturday and 20% on Sunday with highs staying in the mid to upper 90's... yuck! But if you are heading out to see the Texans play at NRG- the good news- roof will be closed and the a/c will be cranked high. Oh yea!
The Hurricane Center is now issuing advisories for Tropical Depression #9 located near the Bahamas. It's still rather disorganized but is forecast to bring a little wind and a lot of rain to the Bahamas this weekend.
The forecast cone from the NHC has changed quite a bit in the last 24 hours. If this forecast track verifies Florida would be spared from any significant tropical storm threat.
