A muggy but dry start to the workweek with morning lows near 80 degrees. Expect high in the mid to upper 90s this afternoon. Feels like temperatures will range from 104 to 108 degrees this afternoon. There is a 30% chance of scattered showers and storms this afternoon. A few storms could bring in heavy rain and be strong at times.

We'll see a repeat of this forecast heading into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tropics:

Thankfully, the tropics are quiet and there is no real threat of development at any time over the next couple of weeks. Uncanny for August.

However, models are sniffing a robust tropical wave in the Bay of Campache by next weekend that could make its way towards the upper-Texas coast. If that's the case, we could see our rain chance go up big time by next Saturday and Sunday.

At this time, we're not overly concerned about anything developing. We'll let you know if that changes.
