The cold air is moving into the Houston area and temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day - reaching the 30s by tonight.

There is a wind advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Winds will be between 20 and 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Temperatures are expected to drop to the 40s by 5 p.m. today and to the 30s by 1 a.m. There will be a widespread light freeze tonight and into Sunday morning.

Temps will stay in the low 30s Sunday morning but they should reach the 40s by noon.

Runners in the Chevron Houston Marathon should prepare to layer up as it will be very cold Sunday morning.

Despite the cold however, Sunday will be a beautiful day with sunny skies and no chance for rain.

There will be a lunar eclipse on Sunday as well. The moon will look bigger than normal and will appear to be red late Sunday night.
