Update: All lanes reopened on SW Freeway after overturned 18-wheeler in Sugar Land

Police reported the accident around 11 a.m. Saturday. At one point, the big rig was blocking all northbound lanes in the area.

SUGAR LAND, Texas — Sugar Land police have cleared out an accident on the Southwest Freeway involving an 18-wheeler. 

At around 11 a.m. Saturday, the police department reported an overturned big rig that was blocking the freeway's northbound lanes near Dairy Ashford Road. According to the KHOU 11 traffic map, the accident was close to Highway 6.

Officers were directing traffic off of the freeway while clearing the big rig from the road. At one point, the 18-wheeler was blocking all of the northbound lanes.

At 2:45, the police department announced that the freeway was clear.
