A 10-year-old double amputee was reunited with a special friend Tuesday in Arlington, one year after her family lost everything in a California wildfire.
Lilly Biagini’s family’s home and belongings – including her prosthetic legs – were destroyed in the Tubbs Fire on Oct. 9 of last year. Shortly thereafter, she met Harlem Globetrotter Zeus McClurkin at her California school.
Exactly 365 days after the fire, Lilly’s family lives in North Texas. And Zeus, still a Globetrotter, paid her a visit at her Arlington school.
A video posted by the Harlem Globetrotters shows Zeus impressing Lilly and her friends with trick shots, and even teaching Lilly to bounce a basketball into a 10-foot goal – Lilly’s first-ever basket in a regulation-sized hoop.
The Globetrotters’ world tour stops in Frisco for two shows on Nov. 23, and in Dallas for two nights Nov. 24-25. Lilly will get a VIP seat on the Globetrotters' bench during those events.
