Deshaun Watson will have his surgery to repair a torn ACL on Wednesday, less than a week after suffering the injury in a non-contact drill in practice. Houston’s dynamic rookie quarterback is already on injured reserve but hasn’t yet had his surgery. The procedure will be performed by Texans team doctor, Walt Lowe.
This will be Watson’s second ACL surgery. The first came in his college days at Clemson and was on the other knee. The quarterback recovered quickly enough to be back on the field at practice in six months.
An encouraging endorsement from noted sports medicine expert Dr. David Chao should help ease the nerves a little about staying in-house for the surgery,
