HOUSTON — The Houston Texans have parted ways with a former first-round draft pick on Tuesday.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the team has released cornerback Kevin Johnson. Johnson was selected by the Texans with the 16th overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Johnson, who played his college ball at Wake Forest, battled injuries the past few years and was placed on injured reserve after suffering a concussion in 2018.
In his four years with the Texans, Johnson started 18 of 35 games, according to ProFootballReference.com. He had a total of 122 tackles and one interception over that time.
