Texans downgrade WR Keke Coutee, CB Aaron Colvin to out versus Broncos

Coutee has been battling a hamstring injury that has kept him out for the past two games. Colvin is dealing with an ankle injury that has prevented him from playing since the Texans' overtime win at the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

The Houston Texans will be without receiver Keke Coutee and cornerback Aaron Colvin Sunday when they take on the Denver Broncos at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.

Coutee has been battling a hamstring injury that has kept him out for the past two games. Colvin is dealing with an ankle injury that has prevented him from playing since the Texans’ overtime win at the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

Houston traded for Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas on Tuesday, but the move was made more so to compensate for starting receiver Will Fuller tearing his ACL and being lost for the year. Coutee was inactive for that game, and the club activated undrafted rookie receiver Vyncint Smith and veteran Sammie Coates.

The Texans cornerback situation has been targeted with injuries since Week 1 when starter Kevin Johnson sustained a concussion that sent him to injured reserve. Kayvon Webster was a veteran fill-in, but similarly ended up on IR. The Texans are expected to get a reprieve from the injuries with Shareece Wright returning from injury, but starter Johnathan Joseph’s ankle and knee injuries still compromise the position as he is a game time decision.
