LIVE BLOG: Houston Texans beat Denver Broncos after failed FG attempt

Brandon McManus missed what would have been the game-winning field goal for the Denver Broncos against the Houston Texans.

Houston won the game 19-17 for its sixth straight victory.

Houston regained the lead over Denver with a 37-yard field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn. It put the Texans up 19-17.

Denver took the lead over Houston with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Case Keenum, former Texan and UH football great, to Jeff Heuerman in the third quarter.

The Broncos lead the Texans 17-16.

The Houston Texans led the Denver Broncos 16-10 at halftime.

Houston is led by 148 passing yards and two touchdowns by quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who was just traded from the Broncos last week, caught three passes for 61 yards in the first half.

Houston’s scores came on a 7-yard catch by tight end Jordan Thomas, a 16-yard TD grab by DeAndre Hopkins and a Fairbairn 46-yard field goal.

The Broncos scored on a 44-yard field goal by Brandon McManus in the first quarter and 14-yard touchdown run by Devontae Booker in the second.

Watson's two touchdown passes in the first half gave him 36 career touchdown passes and put him in company with two Hall of Famers.

He threw 19 passes in seven games as a rookie this season and is nearing that total in his second season through nine games.

Dan Marino and Kurt Warner are the only other players in NFL history to throw at least 35 touchdown passes over the first 16 games of their career.
