DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams has been suspended for three games without pay for violating the NFL's substance abuse police, the team confirmed Thursday.
Back in May, Williams was arrested in Frisco on a public intoxication charge after police found the wide receiver's Lamborghini crashed into a light police. The charge was dismissed after Williams completed a state-mandated alcohol awareness education course and paid for damages related to the crash.
Williams was already placed on the Cowboys' injured reserve list because of a foot injury. The league is allowing him to serve the suspension while on reserve.
According to the Dallas Cowboys, Williams has played only three games this season.
Williams' suspension will end on Nov. 12, one day after the Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles.
