LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Kentucky Derby winner, Nyquist, is out of the Belmont Stakes.

He's recovering Tuesday afternoon after his fever spiked yesterday.

His temperature is now back to normal; however, tests show the colt has a high white cell count. Nyquist's trainer and owner are waiting for more blood work to come back.

He was supposed to head to Belmont on Monday but the trip was postponed.
