DALLAS -- The North Shore Mustangs are your 6A state champions after a wild finish up at Jerry World Saturday.

The Mustangs were trailing Duncanville 36-35 with just seconds to play when Dematrius Davis found A.J. Carter in the end zone as time expired to give North Shore the 41-36 win.

“My coach was like, let’s put it all on the line. We’re just going to go for it right now. It was a good call,” said Carter, the senior wide receiver. “It didn’t feel real. I felt like I was dreaming.”

Congratulations Mustangs on your 6A Div. I state championship.

In other state title showdowns, Longview beat Beaumont West Brook 35-34 for the Class 6A Div. II championship. Shadow Creek from Alvin fell to Dallas Highland Park 27-17 and Marshall lost to Aledo 55-19.
