Police: Twin gave wrong name to avoid arrest

Police say a Texas woman whose husband died after leaping from a truck she was driving gave officers her twin's name to avoid arrest on other charges.

ORANGE, Texas -- Police say a Texas woman whose husband died after leaping from a truck she was driving gave officers her twin s name to avoid arrest on other charges.

Toxicology results are pending on 25-year-old Christopher Raymond Busby of Orange.

Police Chief Sam Kittrell on Monday confirmed to KFDM-TV that the man who died was married to Sherrie LeBouf Busby.

Police say Christopher Busby died Saturday after jumping from a vehicle driven by a woman who said she was 23-year-old Carrie Laughlin and provided her identifying information.

Police later determined the wife was a twin and provided the false ID in an effort to prevent her arrest for outstanding traffic warrants.

Police say Busby could face charges for providing false information, but had not been charged as of Monday.

Orange is about 100 miles northeast of Houston.
