HOUSTON — The driver of an SUV was taken to a hospital Monday after the METRORail slammed into his SUV.

According to METRO Police, the driver was trying to turn from Harrisburg Boulevard onto Sampson Street, heading the wrong way down a one-way street when the light rail car collided with the driver’s side of the SUV.

Police shut down the lanes of Harrisburg Boulevard headed out of downtown for about an hour while investigators were at the scene. Harrisburg Boulevard has since been reopened.

It’s unclear how seriously the driver was hurt or if he’s facing any charges.
