HOUSTON - A young woman's body was found by a passerby in southwest Houston.
HPD was on the scene at Sharpcrest and Corporate where the body was found. According to police, the victim is between 15 and 19 years old.
A man was driving his children to school Thursday morning when he told police he saw the victim lying against the curb. Believing she had been struck by a car, he stopped to see if she needed medical assistance.
The man realized the woman had been shot. Initially, investigators believed the victim was shot at another location and left on Sharpcrest. However, witnesses told police that they had heard gunshots around 5 a.m. in the area where the victim was found.
