HOUSTON — Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s highly anticipated report hasn’t even been released yet -- and may never be -- but that’s not stopping people from buying it in book form on Amazon.
“The Mueller Report: The Final Report of the Special Counsel into Donald Trump, Russia, and Collusion” is the No. 1 bestseller under Amazon’s Federal Jurisdiction Law category.
The book by Skyhorse Publishing includes an introduction by prestigious Harvard law professor and New York Times bestselling author Alan Dershowitz.
So how can a book sell if most of the information in it hasn’t been released to the public yet?
The report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller documents his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Attorney General Bill Barr will decide whether to release it to the public.
Nick Magliato, project editor at Skyhorse Publishing, said they are hoping the report is released this week. Once it is released, Skyhorse estimates it will take 20 days to print and distribute the book to stores.
Amazon currently lists the release date as March 26, although Magliato said that date is likely to change.
The paperback is listed for preorder sale at $9.40, or $7.99 on Kindle.
Skyhorse said customers won’t be charged until the book is written, if it’s ever written at all.
The Washington Post is also pre-selling its own version for $11.99 on Amazon.
