Your Facebook friends probably share a lot of things that show up on your news feed, but not all of it is real.
Our VERIFY team checks one post that's popping up online claiming if you text "Target" to 83361 you will get a free gift card to the store.
So we contacted Target and the company said don't click or respond to any ads offering free gift cards.
They are scams.
Some have even said that after texting the number, Facebook posts they didn't write started popping up in random Facebook groups advertising this offer.
We compared those posts and they are all carbon copies, always ending with a smile or winking emoji.
So we can verify this post is definitely false.
It's a scam designed to steal your private information.
