SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas -- A Sugar Land woman has been charged with manslaughter after a hit-and-run on South Padre Island that sent several people to the hospital.

Police said on Monday that the charges against Daisy Joy Decker, 20, have been upgraded to manslaughter after one of the victims died.

Selena Patino,19, died from her injuries on Sunday. She was from Los Fresnos, Texas.

The accident happened shortly after midnight Friday, March 17 along Gulf Boulevard. Five people were injured including Patino.

Officials said the victims range in age from 16 to 22 years old.

Police said Decker fled the scene before officers arrived.
