BEAUMONT, Texas -- Overnight storms damaged a roof at the Lamar University police station and and flipped a truck in Beaumont.

Trees were also uprooted around the campus, reported KBMT-TV early Saturday.

According to the Beaumont Enterprise, the National Weather Service says winds were at about 50 mph when the damage occurred.

There are reports of a tornado touching down, but the NWS said that has not yet been confirmed.

There are no reports of injuries at the university.
