CROSBY, Texas -- A bill requiring more heart screenings for high school athletes is one step closer to becoming Texas law.
It’s a proposal a local dad has been fighting for for years after the death of his son, Cody Stephens, at Crosby High School.
Thursday night, House Bill 3476 passed out of committee and is now headed to the House floor. The bill would require all students participating in UIL sports to get EKG screenings along with yearly physicals.
