Couple's dog stolen while vacationing in San Antonio

The couple says they are offering $1,000 for the return of their Shih Tzu, Banker.

SAN ANTONIO -- Two tourists visiting the Alamo City from Austin this week say their dog was stolen from the very hotel room they’re staying downtown. Now they don’t plan on leaving until they get their Shih Tzu back.

Gilbert Garza and his partner, Scott, came to San Antonio to enjoy the Christmas lights, bringing Banker along with them. The couple says they invited some people they met at a bar back to their hotel room; one of them, they say, left with Banker.

“It would mean the world to me to have my baby back home with us,” Garza said. “We have a home because he is the joy and spirit that fills our home. So I can’t imagine getting in that car and driving back to Austin without him.”

They are offering a $1,000 reward for their pet’s safe return.

If you have any information about Banker's whereabouts, contact Garza at (832)606-2658.
