U.S. Coast Guard leading search for 16-year-old swimmer missing at Matagorda Beach

The Coast Guard was notified of the teen reported missing after he did not make it back to shore while swimming with friends Sunday.

MATAGORDA, Texas — A 16-year-old swimmer is missing at Matagorda Beach and the U.S. Coast Guard is trying to find him.

The Coast Guard was notified of the teen reported missing after he did not make it back to shore while swimming with friends Sunday.

There is a multi-agency response to his disappearance. It includes Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Matagorda Sheriff's Office. 

Matagorda Beach is about 95 miles south of Houston.
