Lee was a staple at comic and pop culture conventions, meeting fans and signing autographs. In 2015, he was at Houston’s Comicpalooza, surrounded by fans dressed as the superheroes he helped create.

KHOU 11's starstruck Shern-Min Chow caught up with the real life comic book legend at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Chow: “Why are you still doing these shows at 92? You could retire!”

Lee: “I love what I do. I love all these people. This is a lot of fun.”

Chow: “How do you land all those cameos in those movies?”

Lee: “Well, Hollywood decided I’m the best cameo actor around. They want to use me all they can.”

Chow: “You always got the cute looking girl on your arm.”

Lee: “Oh, I’ve got to have that all the time. That’s part of my contract!”
