HPD: 2 men injured when argument turns into shootout in Spring Branch area

HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating a shooting that left two men injured in the Spring Branch area. 

The call dropped about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Gessner Road near Hammerly Boulevard. Officers were at a nearby business when they heard multiple gunshots fired. 

Investigators said the officers went to the location, where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Officers applied a tourniquet and called paramedics to the scene.

Moments later, police were told that a second man involved in the shooting had driven himself to a nearby urgent care facility. Investigators said he had been shot in the leg.

Both men, believed to be ages 22 and 28, were last reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.

According to witnesses, the men had been in an argument that escalated to a shootout. Police recovered two guns at the scene.

No charges have been filed. The case is still under investigation.
