FORT BEND, Texas — A shelter-in-place was issued for a gas leak near the Lakes of Bella Terra neighborhood in Fort Bend County Friday morning.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says a work crew hit a supply line at Canal Road and North Waterlilly behind the Shops at Bella Terra.

The Fire Department advised nearby residents to shelter in place, as a precaution. Deputies have gone door-to-door to alert people.

Area roadways are blocked.
