HOUSTON – A female passenger on a motorcycle was killed after falling off an on-ramp on the Katy Freeway overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened at 12:35 a.m. early Monday near the West Loop.
At that time, a motorcycle rider with a female passenger was heading west on the Katy Freeway when he took the ramp to get onto the West Loop.
However, the rider lost control of his motorcycle while getting on the ramp and struck the inside wall.
The passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and fell off the ramp onto the concrete more than 40 feet below. She died from her injuries.
The motorcycle rider was transported to a local hospital, but is expected to be OK.
There was a witness who gave a statement to police as they work to determine the cause of the fatal accident.
